James W. Phillips, Jr.

James W. Phillips, Jr., 73, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. James enjoyed drinking Pepsi and eating Nutty Bars, playing BINGO, making jokes, and spending time with friends. James and his dog, Lil Bit, were well known in the "I Am Dixie Highway" Facebook community and were loved by many. He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

He was born on September 17, 1949 in Kingsport, Tennessee to James and Alma (Collins) Phillips. He is preceded in death by his mother, Alma Elizabeth Phillips; father, James Walter Phillips, Sr.; brother, Gary Phillips, Sr.; sisters, Glenda Kay Cradic, Deborah Johnson; and fur baby, Lil Bit.

James is survived by his loving family, daughter, Laura Phillips; grandson, Kenneth Smith; sisters, Linda Sue (Glenn) Land, Vanessa (Russell) Cox, Penny (Eddie) Pennington; sister in the Lord, Denise (David) French; as well as a host of nieces and nephews to cherish his loving memory forever.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. A Memorial Service will be at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home.

The family will receive flowers at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions-Southwest Louisville Chapel.
