James Matthew Johnson

James "Matt" Matthew Johnson, 49, passed away on February 28, 2016. He play on the Shawnee baseball team and they won the 1983 baseball championship and he also played on the 18 and under world championship softball for Highland Park. He also played on Riverside Paving and they won the softball Major A world championship.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Chrystal Borsch and his uncle, Billy Borsch.
Matt is survived by his wife, Kim Wright Johnson; children, Corey "Matthew" Johnson, Justin Johnson, Joshua "Drew" (Leslie) Johnson and Jeremy Johnson; granddaughter, Destiny Lyn Johnson; parents, Judy and Jimmy Johnson; aunts Becky LaPiro and Barbara (Leonard) Moya; uncle, Eddie Lashley and numerous cousins.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March, 3, 2016, from 3pm-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway). A celebration of Matt's life will be Thursday, March 4, 2016, at the chapel of Newcomer Funeral Home beginning at 11am.
Burial will be at St. Andrew's Cemetery (7500 St. Anthony's Church Road).
