James H. Lucas, 82, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky passed away on March 2, 2021. He was born on March 24, 1938 in Webster County, Kentucky to the late John Lucas and Pearl Maulder. He was retired from Bell South after a lengthy service. He enjoyed hunting, playing cards, doing puzzles and telling bad Dad jokes. He had a great sense of humor that will be missed by everyone that knew him. He was a Father to many people and he was the best Father any of them could have had. He was a selfless man that would give anyone the shirt off of his back.
In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mickey Lucas; 3 sons, Eddie Lucas, Jerry Owings and Billy Ray Lucas; 3 grandchildren, Crystal Lucas, Chris Lucas and Kristen Lucas and his beloved dog, Scrappy.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Terri Lynn (Tim) Quiggins, Debbie (Michael) Dubin, James D. Lucas, Nicole Lucas and Kelly (Levi) Pinnick; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Shirley Patrick, Margaret Perry and Doris Lavaque; and a sister-in-law, Judy (Larry) Combs.
A service to celebrate James' life will take place at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home- Southwest Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway). The family will accept guests for visitation prior to the service and after the service from 3:00-8:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in James' honor to the Bullitt County Animal Shelter in Shepherdsville, Kentucky.
