James Elbert Lasley

James Elbert Lasley, 49, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022. James was an amazing friend and the glue that held the family together. He always had a smile on his face and loved to be the center of attention. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church. James was a protector, an animal lover, family oriented, and the boss. He was willing to lend a hand to anyone that needed help. James will be missed by anyone and everyone that had the honor of knowing him.

He was born on December 17, 1972 in Brandenburg, Kentucky to Elbert and Charlene (Basham) Lasley. He is preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Marsha Mitchell; and fur baby, Molly.

James is survived by his loving husband of 27 years, Jim Mitchell; parents, Elbert and Charlene Lasley; sister, Melissa Dobson; sister-in-law, Penny (Eddie) Witt; as well as a host of friends and family to cherish his loving memory forever.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). A Celebration of Life will be at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel.

The family requests that contributions in James's memory be made to House of Ruth or the Kentucky Humane Society.
