James L. "Jim" Koch, 89, of Floyds Knobs, passed away on November 27, 2012. He was a retired machinist from Reynold's Metal Company in Louisville and served his country in the United States Army and Navy. Jim was a member of the American Legion Post 42 in Floyds Knobs, VFW Post 1693 Hobart Beach in New Albany, and the 40 & 8 club.
Jim was born on November 21, 1923 in Floyd County to the late George and Mildred (Smallwood) Koch. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty L. (Vogan) Koch; step-sons, Delbert and Jim Milliner; and 5 siblings.
He is survived by his daughters, Karen Morris, Lisa Dexter; grandchildren, Brandon, Corey, Hannah, Julie, Brian, Lisa, Debbie; and great-grandchildren, Logan, Nick, and Maya.
Visitation will be from 12 PM to 7 PM Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Ln., New Albany). His Funeral Service will be held Monday at 12 PM at the funeral home with military honors and burial to follow at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.
