James Thomas "Jamie" Jackson III, of Louisville, KY, age 30, transitioned to be with the Lord on March 23, 2023. He was preceded in death by his Bonus Dad, Sean Ellery, Sr., grandfathers, James Thomas Jackson, Sr., and James C. Moore.
Jamie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at First Gethsemane Baptist Church in Louisville, KY. He attended both Male and Seneca High School and graduated in 2011.
Jamie (Coach Jamie) was an avid lover of both basketball and football. He played football in high school and his favorite NFL team was the Indianapolis Colts. Jamie also loved basketball so much that he became a head coach at Meyzeek Middle School, Assistant Coach at Seneca High School, coached the 502 Louisville Panthers, and Head Coach for A2P Young Shiners AAU.
Jamie was previously employed by Jefferson County Public School System where he worked in Security for Meyzeek Middle School and Minor Daniels. At the time of his transition, he was employed with the Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods, Office of the Mayor, as a Community Outreach Coordinator.
Jamie loved coaching the children and they also loved him in return. His friends also held a special place in his heart as he loved hanging out and having a good time with them. He was loyal, funny, a jokester, and the life of every party.
Jamie was a devoted father and loved his children dearly. He was a loving son, brother, and uncle who loved to Facetime his mother and sister almost every day just to check in. Jamie also had a special relationship with his dad.
Jamie leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Cheryl Ellery; father, Jamie Jackson, Jr.; children, Jaime Rae Jackson, Cartie'r Jackson, Jaice Jackson, Semaj Jackson, and bonus son, Eric Smith, Jr.; siblings, Tenesha Ellery, Brinson Ellery(Mariah), Sean Ellery, Jr., Nathan Bailey, Se'Von Ellery, Mia Jackson, Jermaine Jackson, Daquan Jackson, Jamie Stalling, and Deandra Jackson; Grandmothers, Martha Graves and Mary Moore; Bonus mom, Kermesha Harris; special bond with his niece, Kylee Marshall; nephew, and a host of uncles, aunts, relatives , friends, bonus sisters, and brother.
Visitation will be 10 am-12 noon, Saturday April 1, 2023, at First Gethsemane Baptist Church, 1159 Algonquin Parkway, Louisville, KY with the celebration of life ceremony at noon. Burial will follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.
