James M. Jackson, passed away on October 27, 2024 at the age of 70 in Shelbyville, KY. He was born on April 1, 1954, in Wurzburg, Germany, but spent a majority of his life living in KY.
He graduated with a Fine Arts degree from Murray State where he formed friendships that spanned his lifetime. After college he went on to work in a career of technology. He retired as a Cyber Security Architect from the Administrative Offices of the Courts.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Lucy Jackson; his daughter, Emily Quillen (Bryan); his son, Quinn Jackson and his precious granddaughter Hazel Quillen. He is also survived by siblings, other family, and so many friends that will cherish his memory.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Alanna Jackson, and parents, Walter and Terry Jackson.
Jim will always be remembered for his jokes and his laughter. He loved a good party and being around the people he cherished most. He had a passion for music, movies, art, and nice bourbons. He will always be known by his children as loving, supportive, and encouraging. He somehow never met a stranger; everyone was just a friend he hadn’t met yet. His presence will be greatly missed, but his spirit will continue to live through all those he loved.
A celebration of Jim's life will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at 1207 Blue Vale Way Louisville, KY 40222.
