James "Doug" Huffman passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at his residence after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. Doug was born on March 8, 1947 in Louisville, KY to James L. Huffman and Lou Audrey (Skaggs) Huffman. He retired from DuPont after 28 years and was an active member of Northside Christian Church. Doug proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister. Doug is survived by his wife, Mary Winn Falk Huffman of Lanesville; son, Troy Douglas Huffman (Suzie); son, James Robert "Robbie" Huffman (Jordan); daughter, Wendy Leigh Carter (Dane); grandchildren, Cade, Maecy Winn and Molly Carter, Braxton Huffman and Case (due in May) as well as one brother and four sisters.
The Funeral Service for Doug Huffman, age 65 of Lanesville, will be Monday, February 25, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Newcomer Funeral Home, (3309 Ballard Lane) George Ross and Greg Carter will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lanesville Protestant Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 24, 2013 from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
