James Cyril Hinton

James Cyril Hinton, Jr., 61, of Louisville, Ky., passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022. Jim was born on March 20, 1961, in Louisville, Ky., to James C. Hinton Sr. and Cecilia Ann (Mattingly) Hinton. Jim attended St. Xavier High School and Bellarmine College. He moved to Florida in 1991 where he focused his energy on the Hospitality Industry. He worked at Sunset Grille in St. Augustine Beach, FL until he moved back to Louisville in 2010 where he worked at various restaurants including Mike Linnig's. Jim had a passion for culinary, eating out with friends, making people laugh, spending time at the beach, and a love for dogs. Jim will be missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Jim is survived by his sisters Lucy Ann Allen (Lowell), and Mary Frances Dy-Liacco (Ronaldo), as well as two nieces, and six nephews, and a host of friends and extended family.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church 1004 S. Sixth St., Louisville, KY 40203 with a burial to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery 701 Baxter Avenue, Louisville, KY 40204.

The family requests that contributions in Jim's memory be made to The Franciscan Kitchen located at 748 S. Preston Street, Louisville, KY 40203.
