James Edward "Jim" Florence, 77, passed away on June 6, 2022. He was an avid golfer and loved going fishing. Jim cherished spending time with the love of his life, Phyllis, his family and grandchildren. You sure didn't want Jim to get "bug-eyed".
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Bernice Florence; brother, Tootie Florence and his grandson, Alex Fuller.
Jim is survived by his wife of 56 years, Phyllis Florence; sons, Bryon (Michelle) Florence and Troy (Ginger) Florence; grandchildren, Carol Ann (Mike) Lynch, Shelby (Cory) Lemos, Olivia (Matthew Straughn) Florence, Gracie (Josh Mattingly) Florence and Lukas Florence and great-grandchildren, Arielle, Willow, Declan and Kynadee Alex.
Visitation will be June 12, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 12pm-5pm with a celebration of Jim's life beginning at 5:30pm.
