MSgt (E-7) James "Eric" Finley Jr., 33, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022.

He was born on March 14, 1988 in Louisville, Kentucky to James "Eric" Finley, Sr. and Latonya Sue Booth. Eric was a graduate of Moore High School and Eastern Kentucky University. He proudly served his country in the Kentucky Air National Guard as an Emergency Manager.

He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, James Stanley Finley, Mike Brown, and Archy Schmitt.

Eric is survived by his daughter, Ava Louise Finley; sister, Britney (Eric) Casey and her children, Jaxon and Emersyn; brother, Scott Booth; father, James "Eric" Finley, Sr. (Barb Vergin) and Barb's children, Jon (Erica) and Michael Vergin; mother, Latonya Sue Booth; grandmothers, Marilyn Nutter and Brenda Schmitt; and a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Newcomer Cremation, Funerals & Receptions-East Louisville Chapel, (235 Juneau Dr.). His Memorial Service will be at 12:00 pm on Saturday, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions in Eric's memory may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project.
