James C. Embry, 84, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021. Jim was a loving husband, dad, pawpaw, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a devoted follower of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and a faithful member of his church where he served in many capacities over the years. He was an avid UK fan who loved fishing and spending time with his family. Jim will truly be missed by anyone and everyone who had the honor of knowing him.
He was born on September 4, 1937 in Louisville, Kentucky to Joseph B. and Ethel (Woosley) Embry. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph B. Embry, mother, Ethel L. Embry, siblings, Dorothy Lindsey, Earl Embry, and Joseph Embry.
Jim is survived by his loving Wife of 57 years, Sharon A. Embry; children, Steve J. (Clover) Embry and Carol A. (Mike) Tencza; grandchildren, Kelsi J. (Christian) Grace, Macey B. Lauder, Tori N. Embry, Dylan J. Lauder, Eli A. Tencza, Isaac J. Tencza, and Addison S. Tencza; great-grandson, Declan J. Grace; sister, Pauline (Ed) Crawford. As well as a host of family and friends to cherish his loving memory.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 11:30 am on Friday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
