James "Jimbo" Edward DuVall, 32, of Louisville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on December 19, 2013.
He was born November 12, 1981 in Louisville, KY to Patricia DuVall. Jimbo was an avid UK fan, but most importantly enjoyed spending time with his family. Jimbo married his soul mate, Courtney, and together they have two handsome boys, James Jr. and Lucas. They enjoyed traveling and driving together as a family. He was proud to be a licensed electrician. Jimbo enjoyed cooking since childhood. Jimbo fought his battle with Ewing's Sarcoma to the very end with great courage and humor. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jimbo was preceded in death by his grandparents and his uncle Bill Cook, and his best friend Carlos Berrelez.
Jimbo is survived by his wife, Courtney DuVall; two sons: James Jr. and Lucas DuVall; his mother Patricia DuVall; two brothers: Steve (Heather Yocum) Standiford and Robbie (Ashley Harrod) DuVall; Courtney's parents Gary (Kathy) Goatley; five nieces: Kayla Standiford, Jade and Alyssa DuVall, Paige Cook, and Kaylae Barnes; two nephews: Austin and Ryan Yocum; longtime childhood friends Gary and Natalie Dorton; and a host of other family members.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 12:00 – 8:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home – Southwest Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy). Jimbo's service will be held Friday December 27, 2013 at 12:00pm, with visitation beginning at 10:00am until time of service, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Bethany Memorial Cemetery.
