James Dutton

James "Jimmy" Dutton, 75, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023.

He was born on April 5, 1948 in Louisville, KY to the late Charles and Lula Mae (Miller) Dutton . Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Frances Stoudmire.

Jimmy retired from General Electric after 39 years; retiring on January 1, 2007. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He was a U of L fan and known as the family "handyman". Jimmy was a man of faith; being baptized as a child; he passed along his faith and hardworking attitude down to his family. Jimmy was an accomplished man throughout his life; but to those who knew him best, they knew his biggest accomplishment and passion was his family and friends. But everyone knows his love was for Crown Royal !

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of almost 54 years, Helen Louise Dutton, son, James Dante Dutton, daughter, Anitra Denise Dutton, grandchildren, Ja'Juan, Lanarra, Jae'Sariyah, Edward Jr., Christopher and Ethan, great grandchild,
Ja'Juan Jr., siblings, Ronald Dutton, Claudetta Gwynn, Teretha Banks and Sondra Walker, sisters and brothers in-law, Lillie Burney, Nanthaniel Burney, Rose Cosby, Barbara Smyzer, Cynthia Kendrick, Paul Goffner and James (Jean) Goffner, former son and daughter In-law, Edward Speaks, Sr. and Kenitria Graves, along with a host of family and friends that will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, April 14, 2023 at First Gethsemane Baptist Church, (1159 Algonquin Pkwy). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, at First Gethsemane Baptist Church with burial to follow at Green Meadows Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
