James Dearner Sr.

January 1, 1927 — June 21, 2012

Dearner, James Forrest Sr. 85 of 1207 North Pope Lick Road passed away at home Thursday.

He was native of Middletown the son of Preston and Sally Dearner.

He was a retired grocer who started his career at Hunt's Market in Middletown, a charter member of Poplar Level Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by three sons, David, Gary and James Jr.; daughter Judy Purcell; two sisters, Mrs. Vonda Lobue and Mrs. Alma Eldridge, 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Charlie, Molly and Betsy Martin for opening their home and hearts to Dad in his final days and to John Robert Adams our cousin who was like a brother to us and like a son to Dad and Mom.

Visitation 12-4 PM Sunday at Newcomer Funeral Home 235 Juneau Drive. The burial in Middletown Cemetery which will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to Poplar Level Baptist Church or Hosparus.
