James D. Sims, Sr.
February 17, 1935 — October 14, 2013
James D. Sims, Sr., age 78 of Louisville, passed away Monday, October 14, 2013. He served as manager of Louisville Auto Auction for 27 years and had served as a chairperson on the Kentucky Motor Vehicle Commission for over 30 years. He was a Kentucky Colonel and attended Southeast Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Eloda Sims; daughter, Joy Sims and several siblings.
Mr. Sims is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Anna P. Sims; children, Marc, Cammie and Jamie Sims (Julie); grandchildren, Alexis and Alayna Musinski and Trey Sims; siblings, Ruth Jost, Josie Barrick, Ethel Hedges, Owen Sims and Robert Sims.
Funeral ceremony will be 11am Friday, October 18, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive with burial in New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 – 8pm Thursday, and after 9:30am Friday until time of service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Hosparus.
