James Raymond Craig Ii

James Raymond Craig II, 50, a wonderful husband, loving father and son, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away in his wife's arms on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. He was a Clarksville High School graduate and enjoyed traveling across the United States as a truck driver. While in town, James affectionately earned the nickname "Buddha" through his work as security at several local establishments.

He was born on February 13, 1973 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to Vickie (Ragle) Craig and the late James Craig. In addition to his father, James was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Raelynn. Along with his mother, James is survived by his wife, Kelly (Pennington) Craig; children, Makenzie, Brooklyn, Victoria, Addison, Anthony Craig; and many aunts, uncles and extended family members.

James' wish was to be cremated and a gathering of family and friends will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Tuesday after 10:00 a.m. A celebration of his life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in James' memory may be made to the family in care of the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
