James "Jim" Raymond Copeland, 81, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.
He was born on July 3, 1941 in Mayfield, Kentucky to the late Charles and Judy (Parham) Copeland. Jim was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law Scotty Freebairn.
Jim owned and operated for 35 years Technical Service Sound Corporation (TSC), he sang in the Masters Men Choir as well as the choirs at Christ United Methodist Church and Walnut Street Baptist Church. He was a member of Southeast Christian Church and Christ Church United Methodist where he was the sound tech guy for the sound system and was a Master Ham Radio Operator Technician.
He and Judy were members of HIS Hiking Club at Southeast Christian Church where he led hikes. He rode in the Shaker Town Ride for three years. He and Judy had a passion for traveling and most of all he was a loving husband and partner.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Judy (Powell) Copeland, sister Carolyn Freebairn and nephew John Scott Freebairn (Jennifer) and niece Amy Frankel (Richard).
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm on Friday, August 5, 2022 in the Chapel at Christ Church United Methodist (4614 Brownsboro Road, St Matthews, KY 40207).
The family requests that contributions in Jim's memory be made to Hoparus of Louisville, WHAS 11 Crusade for Children and/or Christ Church United Methodist Church.
