James E. Burns, 82, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022. James was an avid outdoorsman, who loved fishing and being outside. He was also passionate about motorcycles and enjoyed working on motors whenever he had the chance.
He was born on January 8, 1940, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to Haldene and Catherine (Shouse) Burns. He is preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Jacob Ray Carver.
James is survived by his loving children, daughter, Shawna (Jerry) Voyles, and son, Mark Edward (Lisa) Burns; his sister, Martha Sue Reno; grandson, B.J. Engleman; granddaughter, Ashton Elizabeth (Josh) Ray; granddaughter, Cayla Marie (Andrew) Ashley; 5 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends.
