James Benjamin Bryant, age 42 passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022. James Benjamin Bryant was born on June 8th, 1979, in Indianapolis, IN to Judith Ann Bryant. He came from a spiritual family, who affectionately called him Ben. Ben grew up in Allen Chapel A. M. E. church and confessed his life to Jesus Christ at a young age. He was part of the Young People's Division of the Women's Missionary Society and was involved in many youth activities in the community and through the church. Ben was also a lover of music and played the drums as a beloved hobby and for Sunday services.
Ben attended Arlington High School and later earned his GED. Acquiring many trade skills, he had dreamed of his own entrepreneurial endeavors. However, most important to him was family.
Ben was charismatic and a proud and loving father. He instilled in his children to be productive, responsible and to set and achieve their goals. He always reminded his children to have a good moral compass. Ben was extremely optimistic and supportive and he always had a cheerful disposition. A beloved son, father, nephew, cousin, Ben was preceded in death by his mother, Judith A. Bryant; maternal grandparents, great-aunt, Sylvia Coble (Ed); Aunt, Carolyn "Kitty" Buckner (Norman); and cousin, Alyssa Buckner.
Ben is survived by his children, Alexus Tevis, Caimen Reid and Cierra Nelson; life partner, Tera Bryant; sister, Jessica Owens; aunt, Brenda M. Barnes-Jones; cousins, Renee A. Barnes, Rosalynn A. Hollowell (Earl), Richard A. Barnes Jr. (Felecia), Richard A. Barnes III and Roman Barnes; and a host of other relatives.
