James Timothy "Jim" Brown, 72, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024. He retired from Henry Vogt and was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed both hunting and fishing. Jim was a handyman, capable of fixing anything. He also had a great sense of humor that went hand in hand with his storytelling. Jim liked growing a garden every year and more than anything else, loved each of his grandchildren.
He was born on December 19, 1951 in Flaherty, Kentucky to John and Mary (Padgett) Brown. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Paschal Brown.
Jim is survived by his wife, Karen (Raisor) Brown; children, Justin Brown, James Wyatt (Beth), Alicia Duncan (Jeremy), Kelly Turner (Jared); siblings, Janet Clute, Steve Brown (Shirley), Mary Cox (Kenneth), David Brown, Daniel Brown (Trish), Frank Brown (Jean); seven grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Friday after 9:00 a.m. His funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home with cremation to follow according to Jim's wish.
