James A. "Bobo" Brannon, 66, of New Salisbury passed away on Monday, August 15, 2011 at home with family at his side. A retired painter from Ford Motor Company, Jim was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He restored cars as a hobby, was an elk guide for 13 years, and a guide for Chama River Outfitters in New Mexico for a number of years that helped nurture his love for the great outdoors.
Jim was born on October 7, 1944 in Linden, Indiana to the late Stanley E. and Florence (Priddy) Brannon. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Lanelle Johnson.
He is survived by his sons, Jimmy Brannon (Jackie) of Greenville, Indiana and Jeff Brannon (Christy Ciufo) of Elizabeth, Indiana; sisters, Marjorie Brannon (Charlie Sabo) of Louisville, Nancy Blevins (Bernie) of New Albany, and Debbie Brannon of Lanesville; grandchildren, Brittany Bielasiak, Chase and Jefferson Brannon; and former wife, Jackie (Schickel) Brannon.
The family extends special gratitude to Ketlin, Jane, Pam, and Scotty for their love and care for Jim.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM on Thursday, August 18 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150). His Funeral Service will be at 10 AM on Friday, August 19 in the Paul F. Kraft, Sr. Memorial Chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana
