James Walter Botner, age 88 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023.
Jim was a 1953 graduate of Ahrens trade school, and proudly spent the next 43 years working night and day at General Electric's Appliance Park. Jim then "retired" in 1996, taking on work positions such as retail store greeter (Meijer, Lowe's), neighborhood handyman, and paperboy. Jim "re-retired" from work at the young age of 87, and continued to tool around the house until the months that preceded his passing.
Jim was an avid league bowler, and was happy to tell any listeners about his high score (an impressive 278). He is survived by his wife, Pat; their four sons, Scott (Cassandra), Steven, Chris (Maggie), and Keith (Chris); his beloved golden lab and best friend, Eli; his 12 grandchildren; and, 8 great grandchildren, including a new great-grandbaby.
Visitation will take place from 1 to 3pm on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at Newcomer Cremation, Funerals & Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243. A celebration of Jim's life will follow at 3pm there.
