James E. "Jim" Birk

James E. "Jim" Birk, 73, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023. He was a former member of the Optimist Club in Georgetown and an avid fan of the Kentucky Wildcats. Jim was a collector of many things, including stamps and coins. He was also very fond of his cats, Boston, Oliver and Lilly.

He was born on February 23, 1950 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late John and Della (Graves) Birk. Jim is survived by his wife, Sue (Erdman) Birk; step-brother, Wesley Singleton; and close friends, Kathy Williams and Sherri Saunders.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with his funeral service taking place at 1:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest privately at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
