James Alan "Jim" Barley, 58, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023. Jim was a loving father, brother, and friend. He was outgoing and never met a stranger. Jim enjoyed making others laugh with his silly jokes and was always the life of the party. He was an avid hunter and found solace in a tree stand in the early morning hours. Jim was a motorcycle enthusiast and often spoke about the wind therapy he experienced. Most importantly, nothing made Jim beam brighter than the mention of his children. Jim will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
He was born on October 13, 1965 in Louisville, Kentucky to Robert and Enola (Zeigler) Barley. He is preceded in death by his grandparents; mother, Enola Rebecca "Becky" Davern; father, Robert Ray Barley; and niece, Katelynn Hagan.
Jim is survived by his loving family, daughter, Sydney Barley; sons, Austin Barley, Christopher Barley; brothers, Robert (Rebecca) Barley, Jason (Jill) Pryor; aunts, Betty Coleman, Joanne Bartz; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 19, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. A Celebration of his life will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family requests that contributions in Jim's honor be made to Toys For Tots by donation of toys during the service.
