James Frank Allen, Sr., 85, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021. James enjoyed watching Sports and riding Motorcycles. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. James served in the United States Air Force after graduating from Anderson High School. He was one of the first African American Truck Drivers for Texaco Gas & Oil Company. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He was born on June 22, 1936 in Anderson, Indiana to Joseph and Kathleen (Mitchum) Allen. He is preceded in death by his Parents, Sons, Joseph Allen, and David Gray, Brothers, Joseph Allen, Raymond Allen, Charles Allen, George Allen, Robert Allen, Sisters, Mary Dailey, and Donna Kay Allen.
James is survived by his loving Wife of 56 years, Janice Allen, Daughters, Adrieanne McAlister, Crystal Allen, Son, James F. Allen II, Twin Sister, Janet Granger (David) "Whom James treated like his own Brother", Sisters, Carolynne Medley, Molly Jackson, Sister-In-Law, Donna Allen. James also leaves behind to cherish his memory 15 Grandchildren, and a host of Great-Grandchildren, Great-Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Extended Family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the New Birth Church (3301 Linda Lane). His Memorial Service will begin at 1:00 pm on Friday at the New Birth Church.
Memorials in James' Memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association or American Cancer Society.
