James Russell Adkins, Sr.
June 6, 1942 — October 21, 2017
James Russell Adkins, 75, passed away on October 21, 2017. He was employed for many years at Louisville Bedding, Louisville Forge and Gear and Adkins Export Packing and Machinery Movers. James was a master carpenter, locksmith and certified in HVAC. He enjoyed going fishing, reading and tinkering on various projects.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Taft and Montra Adkins and 7 brothers and sisters.
James is survived by his children, James Russell (Debbie) Adkins, Jr. and Joya ( Teddy) Brock and brothers, Tommy (Betty) Adkins, Donnie (Linda) Adkins, Howard (Shelia) Adkins and Marvin Adkins
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY from 2pm-8pm. A celebration of James's life will be Thursday, October 26, 2017, at the funeral home beginning at 12pm.
Interment will be at St Andrew's Cemetery, 7500 St Anthony Church Rd, Louisville, KY.
