James D Acles

James D. Acles, age 89 passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 surrounded by his loving family at home after a long illness. A native of Springfield, Ohio, Jim earned his BA degree from the Ohio State University and retired from Cummins Engine Company in 1989. He enjoyed watching his Buckeyes, playing golf and his life-long affinity with cars. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mynetta Acles; and his brothers, Phil and Bob Acles.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Joyce; his sister, Pat Gregory; four daughters, Marcia David (Rob), Jamie Egger (John), Alicia Long (Dan) and Aileen Denny (Don); 3 grandsons, Matt Egger, Noah and Kadin Kulmer; and a host of relatives and friends.

A special thanks to Yolanda Smith, his caregiver and to Hosparus who provided him with loving care.

Visitation will be 1 to 2 pm on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243. A celebration of Jim's life will be there at 2 pm.

Memorials may be made to his beloved church, Southeast Christian Church.
