Jacob Wales

Jacob Wales, born on February 23, 1988, in Newnan, Georgia, passed away prematurely on March 3, 2025, at the age of 37 in Louisville, Kentucky. He is remembered as a dedicated individual who dedicated his life to bringing joy and nourishment to many.

Jacob was a spirited jokester, known for making others laugh and often giving them a hard time, a testament to his playful nature that endeared him to family and friends alike. He had a profound love for his pets, particularly enjoying moments spent with his dogs. In addition to his pets, he had a passion for video games and cherished taking time to bond with his family, which he held in the highest regard.

Jacob's children—Addison, Trevor, Eddie, and Lilly—were his pride and joy, and he considered them to be his greatest accomplishments. His devotion to his family was evident in every aspect of his life.

In terms of relationships, Jacob is survived by his beloved mother, Sonya Smiley, and father, John Wales, Jr. He is also survived by his sisters: Jessica Brossart, Jennifer (Randy) Michael, and Joanie Wales; his brother, James Botner; and his cherished grandmother, Patricia LeBlanc. Additionally, he leaves behind a loving girlfriend, Jessica Moulder, along with several nieces and nephews: Lucas, Mattheau, Zoey, Clara, Jordynn, and Bryce; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Jacob joins those who preceded him in death, including his grandparents, Maxine (Reuben) Needham and John Wales, Sr., as well as his brother-in-law, Tony Roseman.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life during the visitation scheduled for Monday, March 10, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN 47150. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025 at 5:00 pm with visitation to continue after service until 8:00 pm. Jacob’s vibrant spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
