Jack Petty, 74, of Anchorage, KY passed away November 1, 2010 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas T. and Virginia Rose Petty. He was co-owner of Brown and Petty Electric for 40 years, before retiring in 2006. He was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and served on the vestry and was active with the Grounds Committee and the St. Luke's Fair and Horse Show for many years.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Ann McLallen Petty; his beloved children: son, R. Lance Petty (Audrey); daughter, Joanna Petty Flanigan (Daniel); and son, Samuel Lucas Petty (Jessi); grandchildren, Nolan T. Petty, Benjamin N. Flanigan, Madeline T. Petty and Quillen C. Flanigan; his sister, Patricia Bailey of Birmingham, Alabama; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
After graduating from Eastern High School, Jack served in the U.S. Army and the National Guard. He married Ann Castleman McLallen and started Brown and Petty Electric Service with his close
friend and partner, Harry A. Brown, which still thrives under the reigns of his eldest son, Lance Petty. Jack loved his family like no other. He loved his life at Nolin Lake and all the memories created there with his family and many friends.
Memorial ceremony will be held Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Anchorage with a reception/visitation afterwards in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Franciscan Shelter House or the St. Luke's Episcopal Church Capital Fund.
