Jack Ray Coates, Sr.
April 16, 1948 — February 3, 2023
Jack Ray Coates, Sr., 74, of Louisville, KY passed away on February 3, 2023. He was an Army veteran who proudly served his country. Jack retired from Reynolds Metals as a Business Agent for the Steel Workers Union. He was a member of the Mill Creek VFW Post 5421. Jack enjoyed going to car shows, working on cars with his brothers and he was an avid UK fan.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Vivian Bolin; father, Gus Coates and his brothers, Terry Coates and Ronnie Bolin.
Jack leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Monika Coates; children, Jack (Lisa) Coates, Jr., Mike Coates and Tanya (Shawn) Chaffins; grandchildren, Jessica, Zach, Mick, Linzi, Nick and Allie; great-grandchildren, Braylynn, Lincoln and Addie; brothers, James Coates and Johnny Bolin and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, February 13, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 2pm-8pm with a celebration of Jack's life beginning at 6pm.
