J. Scott Mcewen

August 5, 1953 — April 13, 2023

James Scott McEwen, 69, of Louisville, KY, passed away April 13, 2023. Scott was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in South Korea in the mid 70s. He loved the Lord, his wife, sons and precious granddaughters. When he wasn't working, he loved his Slingshot so he could enjoy God's creation and "spend the best prayer time ever."

He was born on August 5, 1953 in Louisville, KY to the late James P. McEwen and Geneva Hunt McEwen.

Scott is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Cormella Shultz McEwen; children, Erik McEwen, Evan (Katie) McEwen; granddaughters, Elizabeth "Ella" and Layla McEwen; siblings, Steve McEwen, Starr Stogner and Jeneva (Guy) Scheper.

Following Scott's wishes, cremation was chosen. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 19, from 4:00pm - 8:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (Middletown, KY), as well as on Thursday, April 20, at Southeast Christian Church (Chapel - Main Campus on Blankenbaker), from 2:30pm - 4:00pm, with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 4:00pm in the chapel.

The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the charity of their choice.
