Irvin Martin Libs

Irvin Martin Libs, 92, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023. He was proud of his service in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. A lifelong farmer, Irvin also worked as a finish carpenter and school bus driver for New Albany-Floyd County School Corporation. He always enjoyed time spent with his family and lifelong friends.

He was born on January 12, 1931 to Martin and Caroline (Zimmerman) Libs. Along with his parents, Irvin was preceded in death by his daughter, Rochelle Harbison; and siblings, Bertha Eckert, Mary Morthorst, Dorothy Sprigler, Sr. Dolrita Libs OSB, Raymond Libs and Anna Lee Gesenhues.

Irvin is survived by his wife and best friend of 69 years, Jane (Scott) Libs; daughters, Teresa Huber (Steve), Belinda Dones (Rob); son-in-law, Roger Harbison; grandchildren, Derek Huber (Michelle), Rachel Davila (Jared), Randa Raymer (Zach), Dylan Dones (Kendra); great-grandchildren, Vance, Banks Huber, Eloise, Rhodes, Florence, Hudson Davila, Dash, Oakley Raymer, Lennox Dones; sister, Evelyn Baumann; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church (5719 St. Mary's Road, Floyds Knobs) with his funeral mass taking place at 12:00 p.m. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.

Contributions in Irvin's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
