Irma Jean Swain, age 78 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025. She was born on February 23, 1947 in Heidelberg, Mississippi to LB and Ruby Cooley.
She is preceded in death by her parents, LB and Ruby Cooley; husband, James Swain; sisters, Fannie Mae Cooley and Claudia Rose Cooley; brother-in-law, Wesley Davis Sr.; and daughter, Lashawn Lofton.
Irma is survived by her daughter, Chrishawn Lofton; granddaughter, Nakia (Graves) Hughley and LaTisha Lofton; sister, Betty (Wesley Sr) Davis, Erma (Gregory) Martin, and Lavette (John) Eddy; brother, L.B Cooley Jr.; great-grandson, Dontae Hughley; and great-granddaughters, Aliyonna Hughley and Za'Miah Graves. Irma is also survived by a loving host of family and friends.
A gathering to celebrate Mrs. Swain's life will be from 2 to 5pm on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243.
