Irene (Monhollen) French, 89, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024.
She was born on January 10, 1935, in Corbin, Kentucky, to the late Walter Monhollen and Edna (Barton) Lawless. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, McCellon "Dick" French; sons, Jerry Lunsford, Ronnie Lunsford, and Michael French; and siblings, Cecil Monhollen, Janet Lawless, Barbara Gross, and Delcie "Dot" Atkins.
Irene is survived by her sons, Duane (Toya) Lunsford, and Dennis (Cheryl) Rowe; siblings, Wanda Taylor, Lena (Larry) Gross, Bo Monhollen, Delbert Monhollen and Bill Lawless; grandchildren, Misti Howard, Richard Lunsford, Crystal Lunsford, Shevawn Lunsford, Wendy Maiden, Brenda Lunsford, Chris Noonan, Michael Quick; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
