Isaac Earl Shain "Ike"
12/21/1933-03/29/2023.
On March 29th devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away at age 89, in Louisville KY. Ike was born in Caneyville, KY. He married April 18, 1953, and moved to the "big city" of Louisville, where he and wife, Dorothy raised five children, Patricia (Terry Bickel), Danny (Susan), Garry (Jacqui), Mike (Cindy), and Connie (Randy Angel).
He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Craig (Ashli), Brittany (Jeremy Monroe), Joseph(Tamara), Sarah, Stephanie (Troy King), Ryan (Kaylyn), Josh Ballinger(Jessica), Shain, Hadyn, Connor, and eleven great grandchildren. He Retired from American Synthetic Rubber Company, serving several years as union president. He also served as a Mason at Shively Lodge. Ike and his loving wife of 70 years, Dorothy, are dedicated members of Dover Chapel General Baptist Church, where he was a deacon for nearly 50 years.
Ike loved bowling, watching Wildcats basketball, and the Reds, but most of all being outdoors. Golfing, fishing, pitching horseshoes, corn hole, weekends at the lake with family and friends, even just sitting outside and reading brought him great joy. His love of these things will be carried on through generations.
Visitation: Newcomer Funeral Home, 10304 Dixie Hwy. Louisville, KY 40272, Monday, April 3, 2023 from 2:00pm-8:00pm, Tuesday, April 4, 2023, 10:00 am-11:30 am. Service: Tuesday April 4, 2023, 11:30 am and he will be laid to rest following the service at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
