Ida Janice Mckinley-Woodcox

Ida Janice "Jan" McKinley Woodcox, age 85 joined her Heavenly Father on April 19, 2023 in Louisville, KY. Born the youngest of seven in Clinton County, KY, she was called 'Baby Jan' by family and hometown friends. Known as a kind and quiet spirit, Jan loved to play the piano and sing hymns with her sisters and the choir at Bethlehem Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing croquet and softball with her family. To the amazement of her kids she could easily send a softball flying well over the fence. Jan was preceded in death by her parents, James Frank and Etta Dot McKinley; and five siblings.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 33 years, Jerry L. Woodcox; 3 children, Elaine O'Bryan (Jody), Gina Richerson, and James Randall Richerson; granddaughter, Mandy Robinson (Scott), two great-grandsons, Brady and Cooper; and her sister, Joan Embry. She also loved and was loved by her step-children, Jerry Woodcox (Vicki), Paul Woodcox (Sherry), Shelley Massa (Mike), and Jeff Woodcox (Kerry); 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until the time of the service at 4:00 pm on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243), with a celebration of Janice' life there at 4pm. Interment will be private at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, Radcliff, KY.
