Ida Mae Jones, 92, passed away on January 11, 2024. One of Ida's greatest loves was taking care of children. Ida never met a stranger and always had a smile for everyone. She was always there for others to help in times of need.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Jones; daughter, Sherri Velazquez; sons, Michael Jones and Timothy Jones and her siblings, Charles Tuttle, Oscar Tuttle, Elmer Tuttle, Edna Acton, Edith Tuttle and Lucy Tuttle.
Leaves to cherish her memories, sons, Larry (Daniece) Jones and Roger (Anita) Jones; grandchildren, Justin Jones, Eric (Jodi) Velazquez, Nicole ( Ronnie) Buge and Linde Jones; great-grandchildren, Sara, Logan and Brinley and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 3pm-8pm. A celebration of Ida's life will be Thursday, January 18, 2024, beginning at 11am at the funeral home.
Ida will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, 4623 Preston Hwy, Louisville, KY 40213.
