Mr. Horace W. "Butch" Dabney, age 91, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2009. A native of Savannah, GA, he was born June 26, 1918 to the late H.W. and Lulu Dabney. He was the retired owner of Central Office Supply, a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, a former member of the Downtown Lions Club and a charter member and a founding elder of Southeast Christian Church.
Mr. Dabney is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Wilma "Billie" Hay Dabney; his sons, Robert Dabney(Barbara) and Larry Dabney(Martha); and his sister, Marjorie Miller. Also surviving are 5 Grandchildren, Jerri Foote (Darren), Andrew Dabney (Julie), Tim Dabney (Keri), Bethann Graybeal (Troy), Daniel Dabney(Kelly), and 16 Great-grandchildren.
He was very proud (and quick to point out) that all 32 of his family members attend Southeast Christian Church. He greatly loved his family, his church and his personal Savior Jesus Christ, in whose arms he is now rejoicing, and enjoying friends and family who have gone before him.
A celebration in the life of Mr. Dabney will be noon Thursday, December 3, 2009 from Southeast Christian Church, 920 Blankenbaker Parkway with interment in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Wednesday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown and after 10 a.m. Thursday at his church. Expressions of sympathy may take form of contribution to Milligan College or Cincinnati Christian University.
The family would like to thank the staff of Oaklawn Health Center and the wonderful nurses at Baptist Hospital East Pallative Care Unit for their wonderful and loving care.
