Hilary "Dale" Bowman

Hilary "Dale" Bowman, 73, of Jeffersonville, formally of Louisville, passed away at home October 26, 2013 surrounded by his loving family.

Dale was born April 11, 1940 in Island, KY to the late James and Frances Bowman. He proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1959. Dale was united in marriage on March 16, 1963 to the former Cynthia Epley. Dale's passions included spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing and was a truck driver for nearly 45 years.

Besides his parents, Dale is preceded in death by his sisters Vivian "Dean" Thompson and Baby Frances Bowman, and his brother AC Bowman.

Dale is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Cindy Bowman, six children: Sheila (John) Brian, James "Bobo" (Marie) Bowman, Cindy (Tommy) Styers, Dale Jr. (Gwinn) Bowman, Richard (Tracey) Bowman, Dallas (Rhonda) Bowman; 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Harold (Sandra) Bowman and Lee (Betty) Bowman; three sisters: Ann Bowman, Mary (Marty) Persante, and Judy (Dennis) Morris; brother-in-law Ray Thompson; close friends Joe Hines and Naomi Warren; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home – Southwest Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy). Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 10:00am, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Worthington Cemetery.
