Herman Lee Taylor Jr.

April 18, 1950 — November 1, 2012

Where sorrow is no more.
And there the soul will always live,
And peace is everywhere.
We do not lose the ones we love,
God takes them in his care.
Herman Lee Taylor Jr. was born April 18, 1950 to Herman Taylor Sr. and Anna Lee Taylor in Louisville, KY. He departed from this life November 1, 2012 at Suburban Hospital. It was a beautiful Homegoing. At age 14 Herman met 12 year Deborah Russell and married in June 1969. It was a perfect union of 43 years.
Herman confessed Christ as his personal savior and was baptized at Kingdom Land Baptist Church and later moved to 1st Getsemane Baptist Church. He was a retired City of Louisville Metro Parks worker and a longtime employee of the city of St. Matthews. Herman was a faithful husband and loving father, son, grandfather, brother and uncle. His heart was very generous, he was a man of few words who loved fishing with his family and boxing. He truly cherished his wife of 43 years, Deb. He will be missed but always loved to eternity. Now is the time for us all to prepare, Herman is already there.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Deborah Russell Taylor; daughters, Kallana "Kelly" Martin (Eric), Erica (Au-Au) Taylor (James Smith Jr.) and Ja'kel Miller ( his first granddaughter whom he raised); Herman Lee (Mann)Taylor III (Aleana Gayfield), Dominic (Lil-Nick) Taylor, Dominic Taylor Jr. ( his grandson whom he was raising), Jameason Lee Herman Smith Taylor ( his grandson whom he raised); 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 5 sisters, 3 brothers, 1 uncle and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Anna Taylor (his mother by 32 hours), 2 grandchildren Jameason and Jai Smith and sister, Barbara Taylor Clark.
Our thanks to everyone who has shown us much love during our sorrow. Thank you for prayers, kind words and sympathy. We appreciate you and send our love to you. Especially Sharon Yvonne Huston and Tonia Mahoney, who stayed to the end, keeping us strong. All my brothers and sisters
