Herman Donald "Don" Rogge, 81, of Georgetown, Indiana passed away on Saturday morning, June 19, 2010 at Autumn Woods Health Campus in New Albany with family at his side. Herman was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He had worked for Standard & Evening News and was a draftsman in Michigan, Ohio, Louisville and New Albany. He was a member of the Georgetown Church of the Nazarene, American Legion Bonnie Sloan Post 28, and lifetime member of the VFW Hobart Beach Post 1693. Don was devoted to his wife, children, and grandkids.
Don was born on April 12, 1929 in New Albany to the late Herman and Mona (Meddles) Rogge. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn (Conrad) Rogge; son, Steve Rogge; and sister, Norma Peay.
Don is survived by his wife, Aileen (Fenwick) Rogge of Georgetown; sons, Scott Rogge of Morgantown, KY, Stuart Rogge and his wife, Pam of Jeffersonville, Sheldon Rogge and his wife, Pam of Ohio, Dale Mann and his wife, Patty of Georgetown, Barry Mann of Georgetown and Thomas Mann and his wife Cyndi of Southlake, TX; daughter, Suzanne Nevins and her husband, Scott of Morgantown, KY and Donna Elliott and her husband, Roger of Georgetown; brother, James Rogge and his wife, Delores and sister, Diane Montgomery and her husband, Earl; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The visitation will be 2 PM to 8 PM Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home (formerly Generations Funeral Home) (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). His Funeral Service will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Generations Funeral Home with burial at SCI Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
