Helen Faye (Mathis) Schroeder

Helen Faye (Mathis) Schroeder, 77, of Charlestown, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. Helen loved her husband, family and dogs, Gigi and Molly. She was also an avid fan of Elvis Presley and Ricky Van Shelton.

She was born on December 3, 1945 in New Albany, Indiana to Clarence and Dorothy (Hockman) Mathis. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Schroeder, Sr.; son, Richard Renn, Jr.; and grandparents, Lee and Harriet Mathis, Arthur and Anna Hockman.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Bobbi Carlton; sons, Rick Renn, Adam Renn (Stella), Anthony Renn (Dawn); sisters, Edna McKinley, Wanda Pappas (Donnie), Linda Helsley, Barbara Been; brothers, Bill Mathis, Larry Mathis; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A reception of family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a celebration of Helen's life taking place at 1:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest at Hibernia Cemetery in Charlestown.
