Helen Crawford

Helen J. (Harmon) Crawford, 77, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2010 in Georgetown, Indiana surrounded by her family. Helen was an active member of Edwardsville United Methodist Church in Edwardsville, Indiana. She loved animals and her job as a dog groomer for the past 15 years. She was a talented and creative seamstress and quilter and enjoyed attending the Corydon Jamboree regularly.

Helen was born on December 27, 1932 in Fredericksburg, Indiana to the late Wincell Merle and Flossie Irene (Fleenor) Harmon. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Justus L. Crawford; sister, Violet Mae McDonald; and brother, Mervin B. Harmon.

She is survived by her daughters, Vickie S. Ramsey of Louisville, Kentucky, Vanessa Wisenbaler and Pam Combs, both of Floyds Knobs, Indiana; sons, Hank Ramsey of Georgetown, Dwight Ramsey of Jeffersonville, Indiana, and Brian Ramsey of Georgetown; sister, Shirley Wiseheart and her husband, Johnny of New Salisbury, Indiana; 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; stepchildren, Debbie, Mark, and Sandy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 PM on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home (formerly Generations Funeral Home, 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN). Her funeral service will be 11 AM Friday, September 17, 2010 in the Paul F. Kraft, Sr. Memorial Chapel at Newcomer Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mathers Cemetery in English, Indiana.
