After retiring and moving to Louisville, Kentucky in 1999, she continued substituting at several local churches, sang with the church choir, and was a member of the American Guild of Organists.
Helen married Herbert Vincent Buehl on September 3, 1949. She was a very loving and caring wife and mother. Her spirit was pure and she loved unconditionally. Her infectious smile and positive attitude made everyone who came into her presence feel welcome and comfortable.
