Hector Carrasquillo
Hector Carrasquillo, 76, of New Albany devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away on December 23, 2010. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Albany. Hector's family was most important to him, and he helped anyone who came his way.
He was born on March 7, 1934 in Puerto Rico to the late Isabelo and Flora (Santiago) Carrasquillo. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Justina A. (Mas) Carrasquillo; son, Hector Manuel Carrasquillo; daughter, Anna Elizabeth DeMoss; and grandson, Danny Carrasquillo.
Hector is survived by his children, Hector Luis and his wife, Peggy, Geraldine C. Smith, Julie Carrasquillo and her husband, Eric, Luis Rafael Carrasquillo and Dominic "Nic" Morales and his wife, Sheila; sisters, Chefa and Carmen Carrasquillo; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
His visitation will be from 4 PM to 8 PM Monday, December 27, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM, Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Albany with entombment to follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (3703 Taylorsville Road, Suite 102, Louisville, KY 40220-1330).
