Hazel Burkhead

Hazel (Woosley) Burkhead, 93, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2012. Hazel was born on May 28, 1918 in Westmoreland, Tennessee to the late Walter and Sudie (Mayes) Woosley. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty McMorrow; grandchildren, Steven and Wayne; brothers, Marvin, Leslie, Roy, and John Woosley; and sister, Hattie Woosley.

She is survived by her children, Stanley L. Doan (Patricia), Joyce A. Comley (William), Carl E. Burkhead, and Mary Sue Bullock (Steven); and grandchildren, Pam, Carolyn, Julie, David, Tony, Timmy, Carla, Carrie, Melissa, Christina, Kimmie, Lenna, and Richard.

Her Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and 11 AM to 12 PM on Friday. Her Funeral Service will be at 12 PM Friday in the Paul F. Kraft, Sr. Memorial Chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville, Kentucky.
