Harry John Schornberg Jr., 76, of Shelbyville, Kentucky passed away on November 24, 2023.
Harry was born on January 22, 1947, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Harry and Edna Schornberg. He was an avid fan of the University of Kentucky Wildcats. Harry also was a proud veteran of the United States Army, where he served as a Chaplin Assistant.
Harry is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Brenda Carol Schornberg; son, Henry John Schornberg; sister, Sherlyn Ann Reynolds; brothers-in-law, Rick Littrell, Stan Stewart, and Jack Williams and his best friend, Warren Davies.
Harry is survived by wife of 12 years, Terry Susan Schornberg; son, Harry John Schornberg, III (Partner, Anny Livingston); daughter, Susan Lynn Straatmann (Dave); step-daughters, Jackie Lynn Huey (Kevin) and Jennifer Abigail Gifford (Jeremy); grandchildren, Riley James Straatmann, Ella Rose Straatmann, Madison Sue Gifford, Grant Thomas Gifford, and Halie Mae Wolpert, sisters, Carol Jean Stewart, Denise Kay Smith (Lloyd), and Janice Lynn Littrell; brother-in-law, Wendell Reynolds; sister-in-law, Cheryl Williams; numerous nieces and nephews; and two fur babies, Coach and Luke.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville). A memorial service will follow visitation on Saturday at 4:00 pm at the funeral home. Cremation services were chosen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society and The American Diabetes Association.
