Harry Charles Bierbaum Iii

Harry Charles Bierbaum III, 76, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and had a successful career as an optometrist.

He was born on August 22, 1947 in Louisville, Kentucky to Harry Jr. and M. Nadyne (Hodges) Bierbaum. Along with his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Herman "Bud" and Freda Schmelz; and brothers-in-law, Bill and Charles Schmelz.

Harry is survived by his wife of over 36 years, Nancy (Schmelz) Bierbaum; sister, Nancy Collins; brother/sisters-in-law, Jim and Janet Schmelz, Dorothy Gilkey, Sue Schmelz; and several generations of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a celebration of Harry's life taking place at 2:00 p.m. Harry will be laid to rest privately at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.
