Harry Gordon "Buddy" Anderson, Jr., 81, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020. Buddy was a long-time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Albany. After his retirement from Sellersburg Stone, Buddy spent his spare time cutting wood for many people.
He was born on July 1, 1939, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Harry and Naomi (Holtz) Anderson. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Judith Anderson; and sister, Deanna Schickel.
Buddy is survived by his daughter, Theresa "Terry" (David) Carroll; son, Kevin Anderson; siblings, Robert Wayne Anderson, Theron "Willie" (Dottie) Anderson, Linda Stinson, Dennis Anderson, Gary (Shirley) Anderson, Merlinna (Danny) Dunn, David Anderson, and Susie (Eddie) Jenkins; grandchildren, Jason Carroll, Tyler (Renata) Carroll, and Kyle (Kaela) Anderson; great-grandchildren, Payton, Bradence, Breann, Dalton, Isaac, Sawyer, and Harper.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church (415 E. 8th St., New Albany) with burial to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
The family requests that contributions in Buddy's memory be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105).
